All In Your Name, with Barry Gibb

Le 25 juin 2011, le chanteur Barry Gibb, des Bee Gees, offre aux fans un duo inédit avec Michael Jackson, All In Your Name, enregistré en 2002 aux Middle Ear Studios de Miami, en Floride.

Barry et Michael ont écrit la chanson afin de protester contre le projet du gouvernement américain d’envahir l’Irak. La rumeur veut que Michael serait arrivé un jour chez Barry avec la chanson partiellement écrite et aurait persuadé Barry de poursuivre le projet avec lui, probablement durant l’été 2002. La version finale ne fait cependant pas de références directes à la guerre d’Iraq.

En décembre 2011, Barry Gibb publie sur son site officiel les images d’enregistrement du titre. Il déclare posséder plus de 2h d’enregistrement sur ce titre. Espérons que nous en verrons plus un jour!!

« Michael Jackson et moi avons été les plus chers des amis, c’est simplement ce qu’il était. Nous gravitions autour du même genre de musique et nous avons aimé collaborer et il était la personne avec laquelle il était le plus facile d’écrire. Plus nous apprenions à nous connaître  l’un l’autre et plus ces idées s’harmonisaient pour finir par donner la chanson « All in your name ». « All in your name » est en fait le message que Michael voulait envoyer à tous ses fans partout dans le monde, qu’il a tout fait pour eux et pour l’amour pur de la musique. Cette expérience, je la chérirai toujours. »  Barry Gibb
